What do you think of...Maxi Skirts?

Very long skirts... or maxi skirts are a trend I can see both sides of. They can totally be seen as frumpy. They could also be one of those things that look so cool and effortless. I guess this goes back to the HUGE maxi dress trend a couple years ago. Honestly, I think I had one then. Now, I definitely don't. I don't know how wearable or flattering these skirts are. I would expect pretty unflattering since some styles cling to the hips and they definitely don't add curves to boyish frames. However, many people used the maxi dress for an alternative t-shirt and jeans- they are very comfortable and easy. They would make petite frames look taller. I always thought I looked rediculously tall in the maxi dresses, which can be good and bad- least I say, no heels for me with these. I like the sheer alternative by Urban. I think it breaks up the long, fabric column. It is also a more flattering length. I also like the one from Asos with the slit. It adds another fun twist to the look. I think the striped version is terribly unflattering. I will definitely not be rocking that one. I also think both black styles, the looser and tight ones, I will not be seen in. I don't really love the boringness of them. The purple one is kinda the same story. The floral ones are also kinda iffy for me. They add some color and interest, which is good. I just do not know how practical they are. Isn't it hard to walk with the ones that are without a slit? I don't think my legs would move! What do you think? Are they going to catch on more? Or is this one trend that will fizzle completely? Comment below please!

i think they are too long and over powering unless you're super tall. I'm 5'6 and can't pull it off. I think a shorter skirt with a tall boot is a much cuter option. I've seen some pretty cute
fashion options at mark.

It really depends how you wear them. Out of the ones pictured here I like the Fairground one for casual wear. It'd look cute with flats or sandals and a tank or halter/denim jacket combo. I'm 5'5" and pretty straight up and down. I like the way maxi skirts/dresses look on me. It gets a lot harder to keep them from feeling frumpy as it gets colder though. The type of outfit I mentioned above looks cute in the summer/early fall. As it gets colder I've worn them with a fitted knit top or tee with a vest and open heels. Wearing them beyond that is kinda tricky where I live 'cause it snows and I find once you pair them with boots or anything loose you end up looking pretty shapeless. I'm thinking the fitted ones(like the striped one) might still look good with some of this seasons lace-up boots and loose cardigan or button down worn open over a sung tee or tank?
